Without Suffering is a multimedia visual study of human inability to process data overload in the age of informational flood; and apathy as an inevitable consequence.

The world at large is becoming radically complex. The combination of interconnectedness on economic, social, and informational levels and exponential converging technologies increased the speed of growth of said complexity at a level never encountered before.

Humanity on average does not possess relevant tools to process the overload of incoming data. Overwhelmed by rapid change and complexity, human cognition defaults to fanaticism, anxiety, or apathy in search of simplification. The path of fanaticism through disillusionment results in apathy. So does the path of anxiety, once the brain is drained of cognitive resources to process the loop of doom.

The dangers of an apathetic society are obvious. It will inevitably fall victim to a dystopian regime.

This project is a call for action to create new cognitive tools available to the masses, popularize the issue, and promote novel solutions as they become available.
